This was another assignment for class, to render the shadows of the Villa Mairea by Alvar Aalto. These renderings are (more or less) factual for the sun at a certain angle at a certain time. I had to measure at that angle and draw back to the plan drawing of the house to see where it hits the face. After I had rendered all of the shadows by pencil, I took a transparent film that attached to the drawing, and cut it out around the outline of the house–very tricky where there are rails or other small features. Then I took a blending brush and some graphite and shaded in the sky with graphite shavings.
